After looking over all 7 teams I have this year, I found a pattern of players which are Biz favorites in 08.... I just seemed that after I my first few drafts, I found a comfort zone in knowing where certain players will fall in the draft, which allowed me to formulate draft plans with this info in mind.

Dustin Mcgowan = 7 of 7 teams Yikes!
Chad Billingsley = 5 of 7 teams
Phil Hughes = 5 of 7 teams
Giovanny Soto = 4 of 7 teams

If these guys go down, my teams are over! .... So these are my boys in 08 ... I will be covering them with Blankeys when they are cold! ... Flushing their toilet when they are done shitting! and burping them virtualy when they eat too much brisket! ...

Since most of you fools have more then 1 team .. whos your boys this year? which guys will play a huge impact on your teams?

Only in 3 leagues this year (so far, might have 1 more coming)... but I have Justin Morneau and Erik Bedard in all of them.

A lot of guys have been reaching for Mcgowan, Billingsley, Hughes & Soto types so I haven't had a shot at any of them yet...my reoccurring players are mostly established guys you can get way too late in drafts due to recent off seasons/injuries or whatever:

Pedro, Harden & Kuroda - all high ceiling guys who go largely unnoticed in drafts - I bag Pedro & Harden around rounds 15 or so and snag Kuroda with the last pick usually.

Furcal - remember him?

Cust, Glaus, Billy Butler - late late HR's & RBI's

Corey Patterson - a very useful roto player, when he plays

Chad Cordero, Percival, Neshek, Bell, Broxton - bullpens get overlooked in some leagues, and if you can get rock solid options like Cordero & Percival super late there's no reason to draft a closer early.

My teams actually have a TON of variety this season. In 6 teams I have 5 different first round picks (Howard, Utleyx2, Reyes, Rollins, Hanley)

My most common are...

Ryan Garko 5 outta 6, never starting 1B though always utility or bench

Joe Nathan 5 outta 6, stud closer right in the range where I target one

Joe Blanton 5 outta 6, last of the original cheap AL pitching crew from last season and beyond

Roy Oswalt 4 outta 6, undervalued

Jered Weaver 4 outta 6, no explanation really

Grady Sizemore 3 outta 6, guy I always target in the 2nd round

Right now Grid, Pedro and Furcal from where you probably landed them are great picks. Especialy if you land pedro, hes really been a forgotten player in my drafts.

1. Lance Berkman - has a good year every 2nd year and is now due for a good one
2. Nick Swisher - he's my boy so I gota have him on my squad, expecting a big year from him
3. Rickie Weeks - been reaching for this guy a bit

Most of the usual sleepers are being reached for by other owners, guys liek Billingsley, McGowan, Kemp etc.

Grid, you are very fortunate, Pedro has been going early in my drafts, by Rounds 11 or 12 he'll be gone.

Pedro went in the 4th round of a yahoo draft. Santana was his first pick in round 1. Yes, he is a Mets fan.

The pain I have been going through, watching Chad Billingsley start the season 0-4 6.54era has been of great rash and irritation ico_cryz ico_cryz ico_cryz

My heart has been filled with hurt in april ...

And as i look through the box scores tonight .... I see a light!!! ... a beautiful glowing light!! ... A light to go towards ...Where their is peace.. and serenity .. in the light!!!! .....

what is in that light you ask????????? ....

Fookin THIS!!! ---- Chad Billingsley, 8 innings, 0ER, 4BB, 8K's

lol- Go Chad?,,,You had to know he'd break-through at some point if only for one outing,,,

------------

Back to the topic:

I somehow felt inclined to seek out Pat Burrell, Adam Wainwright, Mark Reynolds, and felix Pie, in every league that I could,,,

Several leagues I fell short in acquiring these guys, but for the most im pretty happy-

I knew Reynolds was an all or nothing guy, but really thought Pie would be given a chance to play everyday,,

Wainwright and Burrell however have been enjoyable to own so ultimately Im content with the "Boys",,overall,,,

Good call man Furcal's value was so low at draft time and spring training. It made no sense to me, but I took it and ran. I have either him or Ryan Theriot as my SS in all but 1 league and both of those guys were top 10 SS;s that could be had after round 10in Yahoo. Actually I think I got Theriot in a late round in CEO as well.
