Post all you add / drops as well players that you are putting on DL. When adding and dropping players can you post your team name as well as player salaries. This would be a big help.

DL listed players will all be posted on this page.

Note: There are 2 IR slots (even though Yahoo doesnt support it). To place an injured player on IR he MUST have IR next to his name (it has to show next to his name on Yahoo). Then you notify the league that you are putting the on IR by posting in here and simply drop the player and add someone else. Injured players salary will NOT count against your salary cap. I will keep an updated 'running list' of all players on IR.

Rich, I added Zach Thomas for you. Once Wilma is added on Yahoo you will need to make a decision whether you want to add him or not. BTW I'm about to email Yahoo about it.

Actually, managers should do what they please whether it's waivers or not. The draft is over, and the rosters are already inputted....let them use their waiver priority if they choose to.

I thought all transaction are suppose to be posted here and not done on using the waivers. If we are using waiver then why do I need to post in there at all and we just use yahoo for all our transactions.

Why have a Transactions thread? Are we not using it just like Baseball? If not what is the use of this tread as you can use our team pages to review rosters, and check salaries?

This needs to be spelled out in the rules

DL slots and IR slots are the same. It explains in the rules thread about it but I'll explain in here again.

Each team has 2 available IR/DL slots. When a player is injured it doesnt neccesarily mean he is eligile to be put on IR/DL slot. That injured player needs to have a DL or IR next to his name on Yahoo to be eligible.

So assume LT is out for the year and Yahoo places DL or IR next to his name. Then LT can be placed on DL / IR and to do so you post in this thread saying 'Wests Tigers placing LT on DL/IR'. Then you simply drop LT and pick up who ever you want to pick up. No one can add LT. At the end of the season you simply activate him and drop some bum to make room for him. You can put max of 2 players on DL/ IR.

Now this is important guys. Dont simply drop LT and assume just because he is injured that he is going on DL/IR. You MUST post in here within 24 hours of dropping him. So lets say you drop LT and 2 days later you post in here saying you want him on your DL/IR - you wont be able to do that, LT would become a free agent. Hope this helps. I run a basketball league with these rules (as Yahoo basketball doesnt have DL or IR) and it works pretty well as it gives managers some flexibility.

NOTE: Sometimes Yahoo is abit slack when it comes to placing IR/DL next to injured players' name. That's too bad. He needs to have it to be eligible otherwise it opens up this system for abuse.


As for picking up players or dropping them, I think we are missing a point guys. Because we have waivers to start the season, posting on here looks pointless. Going with waivers to start the season gives someone like Delb an extra option as the guy had a last pick in the draft. ONCE all players CLEAR WAIVERS, then all adds/drops will be done in here. Then you post something like:

Wests Tigers: added (Sam Hurd - $1), dropped (Ahmad Bradshaw - $2) - then you proceed to add that player on Yahoo. If you post in here but you are at work lets say and cant add Hurd until later tonight, it doesnt matter - all it means is that no-one else can touch him.


Also managers will be adding few players on week-to-week basis. So take this for an example:

Assume I dropped 5 players and picked up 5 - also placed 1 player on DL and picked up another in his place.

This thread should say something like:

West Tigers picked up:
Deion Branch - $2
Bobby Engram - $5
Steven Smith - $1
Darren Sproles - $1
Tamba Hali - $3
Ahmad Bradshaw - $2

Dropped:
Kevin Smith - $10
Sam Hurd - $1
Jake Delhomme - $2

By posting it on here it would make it easier for me to track down players you added/dropped as well as their salaries. You guys do realise that I will need to run thru each team's roster on WEEKLY basis to make sure no-one is over the cap. By doing this it would save me time. It's a job that could take up to 2-3 hours.

Then you simply drop LT and pick up who ever you want to pick up. No one can add LT. At the end of the season you simply activate him and drop some bum to make room for him. You can put max of 2 players on DL/ IR.

Now this is important guys. Dont simply drop LT and assume just because he is injured that he is going on DL/IR. You MUST post in here within 24 hours of dropping him. So lets say you drop LT and 2 days later you post in here saying you want him on your DL/IR - you wont be able to do that, LT would become a free agent. Hope this helps. I run a basketball league with these rules (as Yahoo basketball doesnt have DL or IR) and it works pretty well as it gives managers some flexibility.

NOTE: Sometimes Yahoo is abit slack when it comes to placing IR/DL next to injured players' name. That's too bad. He needs to have it to be eligible otherwise it opens up this system for abuse.


As for picking up players or dropping them, I think we are missing a point guys. Because we have waivers to start the season, posting on here looks pointless. Going with waivers to start the season gives someone like Delb an extra option as the guy had a last pick in the draft. ONCE all players CLEAR WAIVERS, then all adds/drops will be done in here. Then you post something like:

Wests Tigers: added (Sam Hurd - $1), dropped (Ahmad Bradshaw - $2) - then you proceed to add that player on Yahoo. If you post in here but you are at work lets say and cant add Hurd until later tonight, it doesnt matter - all it means is that no-one else can touch him.


Also managers will be adding few players on week-to-week basis. So take this for an example:

Assume I dropped 5 players and picked up 5 - also placed 1 player on DL and picked up another in his place.

This thread should say something like:

West Tigers picked up:
Deion Branch - $2
Bobby Engram - $5
Steven Smith - $1
Darren Sproles - $1
Tamba Hali - $3
Ahmad Bradshaw - $2

Dropped:
Kevin Smith - $10
Sam Hurd - $1
Jake Delhomme - $2
Kyle Orton - $1
Dominic Rhodes - $1
Dallas Clark - $5

By posting it on here it would make it easier for me to track down players you added/dropped as well as their salaries. You guys do realise that I will need to run thru each team's roster on WEEKLY basis to make sure no-one is over the cap. By doing this it would save me time. It's a job that could take up to 2-3 hours.

We did not use the WW in the baseball league and that is what was thinking when I read your post. I know this is not the baseball league but using the WW to make claims after the draft was not posted n the rules so I thought it was not going to be used just like in baseball. If the WW is going to be used to start the season then it need to be clreaed up in the rules also.
