O5P MAKING MOVES EARLY
07/06/08
One thing was certain in the 5-Points war room, and that was to move up a few spots in the draft, as they wanted to dictate who will be the face of this 1st year franchise. Which is what happened late Friday night as The Ontario 5-Points moved up from the 8th spot to the 4th in return for swapping the 14th and the 18th picks in the 2nd round with the Border Jumpers.
But now that this was done, the next discussion wasn’t as simple.
Manager Bizplayboy states: We were looking at 3-4 players at the 4 and only 1 of them were the ‘proper picks’ I would be lying if the 5P hierarchy didn’t debate this one hard, but ultimately we went with the closest thing to the proper pick at #4 with age and durability both taken into considerationâ€
And that pick was running back Joseph Addai who at 29 million will become the face of this franchise.
“Addai faded a little down the stretch, but last year was essentially his first full year as the Colts running back and it’s fair to figure he tired a bit. Before game 12, he was at the top of the league in all RB stats. We are pleased to have him’ continues Biz.
Little after the trade, O5P announced that they have reached an agreement with ‘The GM Centre’ in Oshawa to play there home games until there new stadium is built in downtown Toronto in 2010.

Tigers grab Grant and Wayne
Picking 13th most of the top RB's were expected to be gone by our pick GM Darko was reported saying and Tigers training facility early yesterday morning. 'We got lucky though, extremely lucky. Ryan is a top 8 RB and a top 10 player so to get him we were ecstatic. Lets not forget that Grant won the starting job in Week 8 and from then on he was 5th best RB - we'll take it.
With pick 16 Tigers snapped up wideout Reggie Wayne. Our initial goal was to take 2 RBs with first 2 picks however that's with Wayne off the board. Surprise, surprise Wayne was still there and that was a no brainer pick for us. Grant and Wayne are great building blocks and faces of this proud franchise...
