Who knows? The Reds aren't doing things very well at the moment. But, that will happen when you don't like base cloggers like Adam Dunn & justify Patterson as a leadoff hitter.

Koby did you get to see Sean O'Sullivan at all last season for Cedar Rapids. I know he had a good year, but I did not realize how young he his. What was your take?

I was also curious of your opinion of Nick Weglarz. I haven't seen him play, but you gotta love those walk to strikeout rates and power at such a young age (only 20 years old).

I like him a lot & would have included him in my season ending top 100 prospects. But, defense kills him. I don't like him that much in the outfield & it's not like he's hitting like Matt LaPorta or anything ;)

O'Sullivan is a talented pitcher, no doubt. It's just a matter of consistency for him.

Homer Bailey was supposed to pitch today but the game was rained out. Tommorow's game will be a double header with Bailey pitching Game 1 (both games are 7 inning games). Bailey got ripped in his last start but a great start tommorow could force the Reds to call him up at the expense of Belisle's spot in rotation and his 7.45 ERA...

Cardinals purchased RHP Chris Perez from Triple-A Memphis.
The 22-year-old had a 2.04 ERA in 17 2/3 innings at Triple-A this season with a 22/9 K/BB ratio. Opposing hitters batted just .190 off him, with lefties swatting a paltry .130. He'll join the Cardinals bullpen after the "loss" of Jason Isringhausen.

I thought the Cards were about to drop the ball and keep him down on the Farm. he's an interesting guy to follow, expected to be the 09 closer .. he may get a crack at that spot a bit earlier.

Looks like Justin Mastersons being called up and starting against the royals tomorrow. This is a HUGE game for his career. He pitched great in that Angels game a month back .. but has struggled a bit since returning. A good outing here can solidify him as the primary backup this season when Reb Sox starters go down.

Looks like AAA has nothing for Daryl Thompson.

Last night: 7Inn, 5H, 0er, 6SO 0BB
AAA Totals: 2-0, 0.64ERA, 14Inn, 12K's
Season Totals: 5-2, 1.55ERA, 75Inn, 54Hits, 68SO

Bailey and Arroyo better watch their back.

Baileys minor league numbers have not been that good. He's been shelled at the major league level any time that he gets called up. i expect this time up to be no exception.

Francisco Liriano update:
June 11 start - 6 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 1 ER, 7 Ks

He is 2-0 in last 3 starts at AAA (2.45 ERA) and a callup could be on cards very soon... Gardenhire reportedly said that when he comes back he will go straight to rotation.

I can't see how the Rangers can hold Chris Davis back much longer. It took him all but 30 AB's in AAA to get locked in. 12-24, 2HR, 5 Doubles over his last 7 games. I expect to see this kid playing 1st for the Rangers by the All-Star break.

So I just went to a New Britan Rock Cats (Twins AA Affilate) vs Binghimton Mets (Mets AA Affiliate) game. I only recognized two players from the Mets. I was unimpressed by Carp's hitting. The other Mets guy I recognized was Nick Evans, im not sure why though.
