Welcome to THE UPPER MANAGEMENT. Fantasy Sports Neighborhood.
You are currently viewing the UM as a guest, which gives you limited access to view most discussions and access our other features.
The UM opened August 17th, 2007 as a handpicked 100 members who were asked to join for their smarts and community involvement. But the word got out that the UM neighborhood is not just your average start up community! .... Members begun jumping in from word of mouth .. and now the UM stands at 300+ members and over 30,000 posts and growing!
The site has it's very own Texas Holdem table which has members playing against each other 24/7! .. MLB Gameday audio only for the community. A live chat room, fantasy leagues with the winner landing up to 100 dollars in prizes. We also have our own FREE Baseball draft kit for our UM members, as well as an upcomming Football draft kit. We run our own monthly MILB prospect list. But most importantly .. The UM has grown into a community of sports friends. So jump in and, join the UM today! |

This time last year I was about to press the 'Create Board' button which would embark us all on the long blue post journey we call the UM Neighborhood!
The goal was to create an activity center of sorts for the intelligent/die hard sports fan. A neighborhood hangout per say. I think thus far we have accomplished this goal. 315 handpicked members have joined the UM! A good portion of that amount visit frequently and a good portion of that has made the UM there #1 place for sports & amusement on the net!
Any admin can create a board, invite some members in and go about there business ... but to run a sports board correctly is not an easy task. There is allot to account for from admin and board issues to member issues to leagues and activities to adding memberships and sponsorships... the list is long! ... But I have had allot of help throughout the year by dedicated members and fans who have helped shape the UM into the place it is.
So I want to thank assistant Admin Commish as well as well as my REPS Darko, Quik, Evil, Delbert, Nole, TRD, rwillard, and Youngbuck for there hard work this year! I also want to thank Koby Schellenger from Moundtalk.com for his hard work in our inter-affiliation. As well as the fans of the UM... whom have made this augmented blue board into the virtual sports hotspot it is today!
Note: Due to the important nature of this post, I used spellcheck.

And I want to thank you Biz.
Also I would like to thank Herb Peterson. I generally shun fast food since it is just terrible for you and can probably take years off your life by just ingesting, but the Egg McMuffin is ELITE!
Here is some information for your viewing pleasure:
Herbert Ralph "Herb" Peterson (January 5, 1919 – March 25, 2008) was an American fast food executive and food scientist most known for being the inventor of the McDonald's Egg McMuffin in 1972.[1][2] The breakfast business that he pioneered with this item has grown to an estimated $4-5 billion dollars in annual revenues for the fast food restaurant chain McDonald's by 1993.[3]
As a vice president at D'Arcy Advertising in Chicago, which was McDonald's in-house advertising arm,[1] Peterson coined McDonald's first national advertising slogan, "Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day."[1] He later became a franchise co-owner and the operator of six McDonald's restaurants in and around Santa Barbara, California.[4]
Peterson developed the Egg McMuffin, which has become a McDonald's breakfast signature item, in 1972.[1] Peterson was said to like eggs benedict, so he worked to develop a breakfast item which was similar to it for the fast food chain.[1] Peterson eventually came up with the Egg McMuffin, which was an egg sandwich consisting of an egg formed in a Teflon circle with the yolks broken, topped with Canadian bacon and a slice of cheese.[1] The Egg McMuffin was served as an open faced sandwich on a buttered and toasted English muffin.[1]
The Egg McMuffin was first sold at a McDonald's in Santa Barbara, which Peterson co-owned with his son, David Peterson.[1]
Peterson died in Santa Barbara on March 25, 2008 at the age of 89.[1][4][5] He was survived by his wife, son and three daughters.[1] A memorial service for Peterson was held on April 23, 2008 in Montecito, California.[1]
RIP Herb.
LIVE ON UM and the EGG McMUFFIN!!!! _________________ Yankees have not won a WS with a Republican in power since Ike... We're Back Baby!!

| It's been a lot of fun Biz. I used to read the Sandbox forums but that was not nearly as interesting.

Yeah Biz, thanks for putting all of this together. Gave us FIC'ers somewhere to go after that site started to go downhill. Although over there we generally got many more answers to questions, even as the activity level began to decrease significantly, the overall quality here has been much better. _________________

| i've been doing a lot of traveling, and next week is no different; but It gives me great privelage now to wish the UM a happy birthday! it is amazing what can happen in a year.....who would have thought that a meaningless small sports bantar site can have this many members, this amount of attitude and give fun back to the sports community. As Mike and the Mad dog fall, this great sports giant lives on. kudos to you UM!

Thanks to everyone! I haven't been around as much the past few months and hopefully that will change, but the best part of this site has been its growth and the fact that I can come back after not being around for a day and there are hundreds of posts by all of the active members that usually dont happen on other forums.
It is a testament to how smart and dedicated everyone who logs into the UM are.
Let's hope in year #2 we can grow as much as we did in the first!
Here is your cake! and it sparkles!
