Thank you Arizona! You have successfully kept the price of relievers down & thwarted the efforts of the Rockies to extort teams for Fuentes.

The Rockies are asking for top guys still. Wade Davis, Ian Kennedy, Clay Buchholz and John Neise to name a few

Doesn't matter. They won't get it now.

I bet that if Wagner is going to be out for a long amount of time, that they could get Neise from the Mets. The new report from MLBTR says that the Rockies are looking at Humberto Sanchez, so that is another decent deal. Either way, I am sure they get more for Fuentes then the Nats got for Rauch.

The White Sox and Red Sox are working on a deal that would send Alex Cora to the Cubs for Juan Uribe.

This deal is
Bad for Red Sox
OK for Cubs
Great for White Sox

I think there are better options in the Mexican league

This deal is great for the Cubs since they're not even involved.

The Red Sox were interesting in acquiring Juan Uribe from the White Sox but have reportedly backed off. Cora was mentioned only because his brother is bench coach for the Pale Hose. Chicago doesn't really want or need Cora. First and foremost the Chisox want to unload Uribes contract, and they'd probably take anything in return although their greatest need is pitching. This deal could still get done if Chicago would eat half of Uribe's contract.

Rumor has it the White Sox are in talks with the Dodgers who are aggressively shopping Derek Lowe (Orlando Cabrera for Derek Lowe) The Sox would then shift Alexei Ramirez to SS and attempt to trade for a 2nd baseman (Roberts?) provided they can move Uribe's salary.

There is talk of a Brian Bannister for Melky trade. Bannister seems to be another "I will pitch like a little girl in NY" type pitcher.

Not sure who I would rather not have. Bannister or Washburn....

he pitched ok as a Met, but then they traded him away for a bag of balls for some reason.

He did pitch better then I remembered as a Met. Unfortunately for him he may not have spoke Spanish.

I think he took it for 3 years in High School, but that still doesnt count for Los Mets

I hear Texieras name in is to the D-Backs, but the Braves want 1B Conor Jackson in return which the D-Backs don't want to give up. Also heard Bay to the Braves rumors recently, and the Cards have their eye on A.J. Burnett.

A deal that would have sent Jason Bay to the Braves for four minor league prospects was reportedly nixed by Pirates owners. MLB.com Braves beat reporter Mark Bowman suggests the deal would have included Brent , Brandon Jones, a Class A pitcher and one more positional player. Bay is owed $7.5 million during the final year of his contract next season.

That would have been a disaster for the Pirates.

Brandon Jones = 4th OF
Littlebridge = AAAA

Seems like the Phillies are going to acquire Ron Mahay for AA shortstop Jason Donald. Seems like a very low price.
