Wow, did anyone see the end of the Miami-UNC game? Miami with the TD reception to win the game...only to see the ball slip out and be picked off by UNC. The look on the Canes fan's faces was priceless.

Holy crap, Mississippi scores on an 85-yard TD to go up 31-24 at Florida with 5 minutes left. Tebow brings Florida back in less than 2 minutes, and they score on an option to Percy Harvin. The Extra Point gets BLOCKED!!!! 31-30 Ole Miss with 3 minutes left.

What a great week so far!

Florida, Miami, and USC all have to be in my top 5 least favorite programs.

Florida,Wisconsin,USC, Wake Forest, Clemson, and East Carolina, all beaten by unranked teams this week.

Simply shows the depth at the NCAA level is incredible. Also shows that the BCS is lagging behind when you have teams like Boise State that can show up and beat a powerhouse like OU in a bowl game.

It all leads to needing a true playoff system and one that does not favor just the traditional powerhouse conferences.

It doesn't necessarily favor or not favor the BCS teams, what it does is makes only 1 or a few bowl games worth anything significant. In the bowl system, they look at it as if 30+ teams get to win their final game. With a playoff, only 1 team gets to win that final game, so the other games become less important.

But the biggest issue with a playoff is fan travel -- is a struggling college student going to be able to afford 3 weeks of travel to go see his/her team roll through a playoff system? There would be a lot of people who would wait until their team made the Semifinals or Finals before they'd spend money to go see them -- with those people what happens when their team gets upset in the first round (Final 8), they would end of putting in $0 to the playoff system -- the NCAA can't and won't stand for that, they make BANK having basically 32 title games.

Hmmm students somehow follow their teams through the Final Four don't they?I see kids from the west go out east and vice-versa during the tourney. So much for cash-strapped and struggling. As well a series of neutral sites like the Final Four uses on a rotation would work just fine.

I think it's ridiculous that over 1/2 of the teams go to a bowl game. What is it now, 34 bowl games? Anyway, the system isn't going to go away anytime soon...the bowls are too lucrative right now. But I would love a playoff. Perhaps a 8-team playoff, with the rest going to bowls? Hell, EVERYONE can go to a bowl!

I had a dream last night that Texas beat Missouri 42-13.

Navy lined up and ran the ball 77 times against SMU. Not one passing attempt. It must suck to face a school like Navy, go in there knowing they are going to run on every single play, and still lose 34-7. Commentators are happy they didn't have to try to say "Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada back to pass" once this game.
