I'm going to have to go with Matthew Stafford at Georgia or Sam Bradford at OU.

As much as I appreciate your support for my Sooner QB, you aren't even close with Stafford.

Graham Harrell of Texas Tech and Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan are pretty much even with Tebow.

Bradford is definitely top 10.

Stafford is maybe, m-a-y-b-e top 30. Certainly top 50. nzuetral I saw one comparison of him to Troy Aikman -- a solid QB that knows how to lead a championship-quality team down the field and win a lot of games.

EDIT: If Georgia wins the national championship this season, Stafford will be looked at like OU's 2000 NC quarterback, Josh Heupel. WHO? Exactly.

Well while it could and should happen, voters wont go for it because of their record. Fallacy, similar to not having a parallel award for defensive player of the year or even voting for a defensive player. Bullshit.

And............drafting.

If he continues to improve he can become and elite QB, but his decision making and completion percent need to go way up, but the skills are there. Hes one of the most intriguing players in the country IMO

Yep if either of these players respective teams run the table they will receive the National attention necessary to win the Heisman. The skills and production are already there.

My preseason short list in no particular order would include

Tebow
Beanie Wells OSU
P.J. Hill WIS
Mark Sanchez USC
Colt McCoy TEX
Chase Daniel MIZ
Todd Reising Kansas
Javon Ringer MSU
Pat White WVU

Wild Card
James Laurinaitis OSU

So much for top 30.This is the second mock i've seen with Stafford going ahead of Tebow. He's getting a big push and yes i'll certainly say it is awfully early, but he could well end up ahead of Tebow,Harrell, and LeFevour. Personally i was thinking Harrell as well. After seeing this for a second time though, who knows for sure. One injury away for any of these guys from being never heard from again.

I assumed that this post was regarding who is the best QB to play in college in 2008, not who is the best pro prospect for 2009. Two entirely different things. I would have thought that was apparent with the inclusion of Bradford in the original post (a SO that isn't draft eligible).

Just pointing out that Stafford is being very highly regarded at this point, so to have as low as you did earlier doesn't seem excatly a fair view of him.
